Learning objectives

  • The level of technique is exemplary (correct timing, distance, reception, destabilization and connection between them, as well as consistent performance of techniques and good posture, use of centerline, the movement starts from the legs and hips, movement is controlled).
  • The candidate can adapt the technique to uke's attack and changes in uke's movement.
  • The candidate is able to perform techniques against attacks with weapons in a way that is connected to his/her unarmed technique. The understanding of the change in distance in relation to unarmed techniques and the significance of the nature of the weapon is reflected in the performance.
  • The candidate is able to defend him- or herself against several simultaneous attackers, so that he/she controls space, timing and distance in the situation, and is able to pace the reception of attacks and his/her own positioning in relation to the attackers.
  • The candidate can show counter-techniques and begins to perceive the differences and similarities between basic techniques, applied techniques and counter-techniques.
  • The importance of jiyuwaza increases when evaluating the test performance. Jiyuwaza is mobile, dynamic, flowing, focused and unplanned.
