- Use of tegatana (side of the hand), shomen and yokomen uchi strikes and reception of them
- Ikkyo-undo (special attention is paid to the use of knees and hips, stretching the arms front and back)
- Shikko forward and backward
- Performing the techniques without repeated re-starts, a preliminary understanding of distance
